Piston Tribe
If you’ve fixed it, built it, raced it or bought one the hard way, someone here needs what you know. Apply once, and your guides go out with your name on them.
Who we’re looking for
Owners
You’ve lived with one for years and know its faults.
Mechanics and pros
You fix them for a living, any vehicle that moves.
Racers and track regulars
Set-up, kit, your first day and your hundredth.
Buyers and sellers
You’ve bought or sold well, or learned the hard way.
How it works
- 1
Apply
Tell us what you know and what you’d write. Your build logs and best answers are pulled in for you.
- 2
We read it
Piston Tribe reads every application and replies in your account.
- 3
Maybe a trial guide
Sometimes we ask for one guide first. It goes through review like any other.
- 4
Write
Once you’re approved, your guides go out with your name, and you see reads and shares in My guides.
What a Piston Tribe guide is
Always
- From your own experience on the vehicle
- Your own photos, or ones you have permission to use
- Says how hard it is and how long it takes
- Safety first: jacks, fuel, electrics, brakes
- Honest about what can go wrong
Never
- Copied from another site or a manual
- Padding written to rank in Google
- Selling something you’re paid to promote, without saying so
- Anything illegal to do on the road
- Guesswork presented as fact
Questions
Do I need to be a good writer?
No. You need to know the job. We’ll tidy the words with you before it goes out.
Is it paid?
Guides are written by members for members. Some roles are paid. See Careers.
What vehicles?
Anything that moves: cars, motorbikes, vans, quads, boats, karts and more.
What if I’m not accepted?
We’ll tell you why in your account. You can apply again after 60 days, and you can still suggest guides and answer in Technical Help.
Know something others don’t?
Apply once. It takes about 10 minutes.
