A 20-minute motorway run at 50–60 mph cleared the DPF light

DPF light came on twice this month. I mostly do 4-mile school runs. Dealer wants £180 for a forced regen. Is it worth it, or will a long motorway run clear it?

Also check the oil level. The 2.2d dilutes its oil with diesel during failed regens and the level creeps up.

Did the motorway run: light went out after 18 minutes. Thanks both.

A 20-minute run at 50–60 mph in 5th usually lets it regen on its own. If the light stays on after that, get the soot level read first: a forced regen above about 85% loading isn’t safe.
